The little church is situated on the major route between Amiantos and Karvounas in Kardama. This church was constructed in 2002 by the family of Panikos X Kostas in remembrance of their deceased son, Andreas, who was killed in a car accident.
The chapel is constructed to the same specifications as other chapels in mountainous Cyprus. It is constructed from local stone and is a Franco-Byzantine church with a sloping wooden roof covered in tiles.

The bell tower is a basic structure positioned in the church’s courtyard.
In the same location is the 18th-century Agia Paraskevi church, which is currently in ruins. According to the Department of Antiquities as well as the recollections of locals, this area was once home to a predominantly agricultural community.
The church celebrates Agia Paraskevi’s feast day on July 26 each year.

Apostolos Andreas Church is located near the entrance of Amiantos, on the road that connects Amiantos to Karvounas, and is the town’s primary church. It was constructed between 1974 and 1975 on the site of a 1922 church, from which antique icons and sacred relics were salvaged.
The existing church is a basilica with a dome and is constructed from native stone.
The church is located at the southern end of the heavily populated centre of Amiantos village on a big flat block.

the faithful of Pelendri take the icon of the Virgin Mary in procession to a tiny chapel and then back to their hamlet at the end of the day. Attempts to transfer the image using methods other than feet have failed in the past. It can only be transported on foot, like the lechona did hundreds of years ago.
