About the Museum

The Department of Forestry constructed the Botanical garden of Troodos A.G. Leventis>> along the border of the Amiantos Mine region, at an altitude of approximately 1,400 metres. The Garden was named after the Anastasios Leventis Foundation, which contributed more than €350k to its establishment.

About the Museum

The Geopark has an educational courtyard and viewpoint, as well as a tourist centre that highlights the geology of the Troodos mountain range through a number of high-tech interactive displays. In the exhibition hall, the geomorphological rocks of the region are displayed, while in the projection hall, a video depicting the island’s birth from the sea and the significance of Troodos’ geology is screened. In addition, there is a specialist library.

About the Museum

The creation of the garden began in 2004 with the restoration of an old building of the Mine known as the Telephone for use as a Visitor Center. The building features a reception area, a room for screenings and lectures, a botanical garden with specimens of Troodos plants, a small shop with books on the flora, and a training area for students.
